What It Takes

During speaking engagements and workshops one of the most common questions I receive is “Peter, what does it take to get to the next level?” Meaning, jumping to that next level in affiliate marketing. Instead of making $50 per day, making thousands.

The interesting thing I find, is that almost everyone who asks me that are in fact making money, and to be honest, this is the toughest hurdle!

If you are already making money online, you are obviously on your way to making  hat leap, as long as you continue to pursue. Making your first dollar online is very encouraging. It tells you “I can really do this!”.

So what does it take to get to that next level?

1) Have a positive attitude. This was a very big obstacle I had to overcome. Being out of work due to a disability, I had a lot of concerned family members questioning what I was doing “trying” to chase this dream of working for myself online.

I blocked it all out and really focused. You see, like you, I KNEW people were doing it and why not me? Why not this disabled guy from VT who had a dream?

It’s funny how if I wanted to start a retail store, everyone would have jumped on the bandwagon and supported me. I have no doubt in that. But Internet marketing? It was a joke to them because they didn’t understand it… Until the SERIOUS money started rolling in :-) Then I had family members asking me to teach them.. yea..

2) Be willing to take chances. This is a big one, especially if you are pursuing PPC. The thing is, nothing is guaranteed. It takes you risking to get a reward. If you simply do nothing, you will get nothing. If you want to keep your campaign at $50 per day profit, fine. If you’re not willing to spend some money (and time) then guess what, you’ll never get to the next level.

Now taking chances doesn’t mean “I’m going to start a campaign at $2000 per day and say to heck with it i’ll take a chance.” What I mean here is, testing new techniques, keywords, products etc. Never say “That will never work so i’m not wasting money on it.” I will tell you first hand i’ve tested some CRAZY things no joke. You would be surprised at what works!!

3) Get professional advice. If you’re going it alone right now, you are setting yourself up for failure. The fact you are reading this, and that you are this far down, tells me you are willing to listen and have an open mind.

Here is a good analogy; if you were getting sued, you would go seek an attorney right? What is different about this? If you are serious, get professional assistance.

I have spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years on educational material, consulting, and products.

Be warned though: Don’t buy everything on the planet. If you want to learn PPC, just do PPC. don’t get sucked in to the next best thing. You will be working in circles and getting nothing accomplished!

Every super-affiliate I’ve ever met has a few things in common. They all work really hard, and they all stick with ONE thing.

If you can stick to these 3 things, you can take it to the next level I guarantee it. Stay positive, continue to get educated and test test and test again.

Until next time…

    Hi Peter,

I agree everything you just said. Currently I’m a PPC Platinum Coaching student, a 6-week-old newbie. I do realize I have to work hard to get to the next level. I’m very glad I find you here. Looking forward to getting involved in your community. Thanks

    Peter,

My name is Lei Chidester and I am a PPC Classroom student. You are certainly no stranger to me, especially your knowledge and your desire to help others succeed. I wish you could be my VIP coach during your tenure with PPC Classroom. I didn’t realize that you all have left PPC Classroom. What a shame!

I am so glad to have found you here and I read most of your blogs today. Thanks so much for taking the time to show us the way to the ultimate success.

I am wondering if you would consider giving new members a free-month trial to your membership. I have no doubt in my mind about all your expertise knowing all of you from the PPC Classroom days. It’s just an excellent incentive for many people to try it out. Just my two cents.

Please continue with your great insight and content. I’ll be sure to check in often.

    Thanks so much.

You’re an awesome marketer. Thanks for the inspirational article.
Here’s my take and also a couple of questions if I may…
1- I have an exceptionally positive attitude
2- I have a high risk tolerance and a monthly PPC testing budget of $2000
3- Where do I get the professional mentoring and help so I can get to a full time income instead of “donating” my money to Googy?

Again, thanks for your quality articles and motivational emails.
    Ed

    Lei,

Thanks so much for the kind words. Yes PPC Classroom was a great experience for me… I learned as much as I shared.. if not more! The students were awesome and so was the staff…

One of the reasons why we offer our site at such a low price is to make it easily affordable to people. We decided to offer thelow price versus a higher price point and free trial with no games or forced continuity.

As of now we are not offering a free trial but rather a free tour where you can join free and at least look around a bit :-)

Thank you so much Lei and hope to see you soon!!

    Ed,

Wow thanks!! Although I am partial, you should try affcoaches.com with myself, David Ford and Stefanie Hutson. The rate is $79 per month which is extremely reasonable and you can cancel anytime :-)

    Take care!!

    Peter,

Do you have bonus for joining PPC Classroom 3.0 and how to get it?

    Best regards,
    Simon

That’s a great article you wrote there. I am not even making 50 buck a day so I have a long journey in front of me. When it comes to pro help, do you offer any kind of private coatching, I am thinking about a monthly subscription, that’s what I need. The advice I can get in the forum is not what I look for.

Hey thanks for that :-) For private coaching, you can see the details here:

    Many thanks!
